Regional Workshops

The six regional library systems provide hundreds of training opportunities to librarians throughout the state every year. Each region maintains its own calendar of workshops.

Basic Library Techniques

Basic Library Techniques (BLT) are a group of four special training courses designed for public library directors in communities with a population of less than 10,000 who do not have a Master of Library Science degree. The courses are a requirement of the State Aid to Public Libraries program. The schedule and locations for BLT courses are maintained by the Western Massachusetts Regional Library System.

This Web site, and other programs of the Massachusetts Board of Library Commissioners, is funded in part with funds from the
Institute of Museum and Library Services, a federal agency that fosters innovation, leadership and a lifetime of learning.
