Regional Reference Standards 

The regional reference standards currently in place, the Second Generation Standards, were developed by a Standards Committee appointed by the Board.These standards became effective July 1, 2005 and will remain in effect for fiscal years 2006-2008.

History

The Second Generation Standards were released for comment by the Board on February 7, 2002. Public comment meetings were held and the Board released the revised Second Generation Standards for a year of data collection and testing that began on July 1, 2002. Following the year of data collection and testing, the Standards Committee revised the Second Generation Standards and they were approved by the Board on Oct. 7, 2004.

First Generation Standards, adopted by the Board on January 3, 2002, were in effect through June 30, 2005.
